Here we explore the collections from various perspectives on crossroads: worldviews, change, concepts, routes, confluences and democracy. Pathways are interwoven. They diverge in varies directions and end up in different contexts or disappear from history.
Crossroads are places of euphoria and tragedy – of communication, contemplation and consumption. Here we explore the collections from various perspectives on crossroads. Epochs and geographic areas cross and intermingle. The objects in the exhibition all carry stories of how worlds and people have met and been enriched or deprived.
During 2026, we will be updating the exhibition Crossroads with additional perspectives and voices.
On 30 March, the sections Waterways and Silk Roads will close.
On 18 August, the entire Crossroads exhibition will temporarily close for a few months.
The exhibition will reopen at the end of 2026.
