Dance Theatre: I denna ljuva

Marika Hedemyr looks herself up as an eleven-year-old in an international peace camp. There she danced Swedish folk dances in beautiful costumes, representing Sweden. This dance theatre is about belonging and identification with Sweden and the Swedish which in the rearview mirror becomes uncomfortable. The contact between then and now creates friction. The love of folk dance suddenly becomes problematic. By and with Marika Hedemyr. Music: Paul Bothén. Admission: 100kr.

Into the Wild?

Anders Erikson tells of a 80 mil long solo paddle in one hand-built Eskimo kayak. A trip back and forth between civilization and nature, sea and lake, river and through the fjords of western Sweden and southern Norway. The meeting with the total silence by dark waters and the boiling, noisy industrial process in a pulp mill raises the question: how do we bring together economy and ecology with the life we live? Free admission.

Do not miss the first chance to see the autumn's new major exhibition Kimono Fusion, where old meets new in Japanese streetculture! During the opening, we attempt to re-create a crazy night out in Tokyo, extending well into the night:

Google terms like: hanami, kawaii, otariiman, para para, Shibuya, yopparai and karaoke for a sense of what it means. Come dressed in kimono, as a geisha, Pokemon, Gangurogirl or any other far-out Japanese-inspired outfit to gain free admission. Admission: 60 SEK (including entrance to the exhibition). Afrika Blues - from Amandla to Loulou Cherinet

The exhibition Afrika Blues, produced by Riksutställningar and SIDA, showed how the South African uprising against apartheid was manifested in the arts and culture. Christina Björk tells how Sweden contributed to the establishment of cultural organizations that were important tools in the fight against apartheid. Loulou Cherinet, Swedish artist with roots in Ethiopia, speaks about her dual artistic identity, the tension between the colonial and postcolonial discourse. Women's war
